Later this month the Chinese telecommunications equipment and network technology multinational Huawei will open the European Sales Satellite Office of its Enterprise division on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. This establishment will be the fourth Huawei operation in the Netherlands, next to offices in Amsterdam and Voorburg, and a logistics center in Eindhoven. It will employ 2 to 5 people initially, and is expected to grow gradually towards the end of 2018.
Huawei was founded in 1987 in Shenzhen, China, and currently has over 180,000 employees worldwide, around 81,000 of whom are engaged in research and development (R&D). The company’s turnover in 2017 amounted to $ 92,5 billion, with over 155 million smartphones sold. Huawei consists of three divisions: Consumer Electronics, Carrier Business and Enterprise, which serves large global players such as Philips, ASML, VDL and Shell with regards to telecom networks, internet of things and protocols. Huawei already considers Europe as its second home market and intends to further expand its business in Europe in the near future.
We will locate at the campus because of the presence of Philips, one of the most important customers for our Enterprise division in the Netherlands. This opera-tion will act as the marketing and sales office for this particular Huawei division.

Huawei decided that it should set-up a location on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven in order to be an integral part of the local technology ecosystem within the Brainport area. BOM Foreign Investments, as a continuation of its involvement in the establishment of Huawei’s logistics operation in another part of Eindhoven, and in close cooperation with its partners Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and Brainport Development, supported the company’s location search by rendering insight in Brabant’s technology industry sectors, cost of operation and available real estate. Moreover, detailed facts and figures were provided as to international schooling, housing and quality of life, especially for Huawei’s future Chinese employees coming to Eindhoven.
