It is going well with the economy of Brabant and Eindhoven. Not Amsterdam or Rotterdam, but the city of light has the fastest growing economy of all major cities in the Netherlands. According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), the economy of Eindhoven grew by 4.6% in 2017. This growth is, just like in 2016, the strongest of the five largest cities in the Netherlands. The Dutch economy had an average growth of 2.9% in 2017.
The high-tech sector in Eindhoven was the major factor in this economic growth. It created a faster growth in Eindhoven than in the other four cities in the Netherlands. In addition, the province of Brabant had an above-average growth of 3.7%.
The success story of Eindhoven is based on the many high-quality and high-tech companies that are located there.
